Namo the Honored Soon-To-Come-Maitreya Buddha,
Dear Most Venerable, Abbot, and Honorable Monks and Nuns,
Dear Buddhist Followers and Practitioners,
The cycle of the universe has always changed and never stopped for a moment. All of the changes make room for the revival of new life. At this time, here and there, millions of hearts and minds are waiting for the fresh New Year.
Together in the spring season, let’s bring the Buddha’s message to every house and every one. The message is: “Loving Kindness, Compassion, Happiness and Equanimity.” Only the contemplation of Loving Kindness and Compassion and the behavior of Happiness and Equanimity will extinguish human beings’ desires and greed. Otherwise, the love of life and faith fall painfully away. As a result, brothers keep at a distance from each other and become attached to stranger.
Let’s remind each other to return to the spiritual temple, to listen to the Dharma, to chant the Sutra, and to do charitable works to enlighten the mind, practicing the Bodhisattva’s virtues and nurturing our own and others’ spirituality. Also, together we will pray for our ancestors, parents, and relatives whether alive or passed away; all will be blessed with peace and happiness.
The New Year is approaching. On behalf of the Nuns and the Buddhist Members of An Lac Temple, we respectfully prostrate ourselves before you and wish the Most Venerable Abbot, and Honorable Monks and Nuns in the United States and around the world boundless happiness and the lasting lamp of wisdom. We also wish all Buddhists near and far away a calm and prosperous life.
We take this opportunity, on behalf of the Nuns at An Lac Temple, to offer sincere appreciation to all followers and practitioners who take time and effort to come to the temple, regardless of transportation difficulties. Throughout the years we have been working together to build the Great Buddha Hall, which is nearly complete. We hope you all continue your support so the construction of the Great Buddha Hall can be completed before this year’s Ullambana Ceremony.
Namo the Great Honorable Merit Bodhisattva,
Sincerely
The Nuns at An Lac Temple
